Ride the Wairarapa
Discussion - started by celticboy1888, posted on 21-Mar-17 10:36AM
Check out the events page as I'm looking at getting a ride organised in Wgtn for the 2nd of April

So who's keen? Don't care what kind of bike you're riding and pillions are welcome too. Route will be through Martinborough then onto the Gladstone pub for lunch

Meeting place prior to heading over the hill to be sorted once we have numbers. I'm going regardless as already have a mate wanting to go

Single guys please note that this is not a ride and fuck event!

Your welcome Gyman .... if your envious of other riders out and about, part way there. As Celtic said takes time to gain confidence again, heal the body, rest will follow.

Know your limits...know your mind...never let others influence what you know is right....
If in doubt...don't do....you'll be of risk...

The physical limits of humans far exceed what we percieve what we are capable of. Sometimes sad - when you see the depths of depravity that we subject one another to (and survive). Sometimes inspirational - when you achieve and then surpass the impossible.

You are so right... and sometimes we are limited by obstacles others put into our mind - well intended or not. . ..

I'm walking rest of....and the footpath not always safe either....
When a freak accident or a driver caused accident (or 4) people react different.....I don't trust motorists.....idiots on 4 wheels...
But every persons nerve or mind different....
Go with what you want.....

So you don't go in vehicles of any sort and walk everywhere! ...because, you don't trust any drivers!?

You don't drive yourself ?

Always space for a pillion too.

Wow OK things make sense now. ..

.... do you go in vehicles, even as a passenger!?

Just wondering you as you said you don't trust anyone that drives at all?

Pessimist or optimist Helene?

Never had an accident and was riding for 46 years. That said. ..had to sell my best friend after my relationship breakdown in order to refurnish etc. That was 3 years ago, was looking hard at buying another bike but have decided not to owing to low confidence levels now. Being back up driver and Harley rescuer will do me fine now. Had plenty of experience at that while riding with a club.
Posted on 3-Apr-17 7:34AM
Couldn't have been easy for you to come to that decision, but you've got to follow your gut, and confidence is number one when you jump on a bike!!
Posted on 3-Apr-17 7:38AM
Another good ride. Good company and the weather held until the last 10k's. Great crowd at the Gladstone and it looked like a makeshift bike shop

Looking forward to the next one
Posted on 3-Apr-17 9:00AM
Sure wasn't easy although I have some pretty awesome memories from the years that I was riding. ...I can live with that.
