Inch bar !!! Is this the best place

A gay site mentioned Inch Bar, I have sat in here alone during week and no approaches. Haven’t been there for ages. Is a cosy little bar.

Sounds like Inch Bar is queer friendly but not specifically a gay bar.

There were some interesting articles a few years back about it wrongly being labelled as one by the I-site and people being either disappointed or homophobic.

Mind you, with a name like that, what do they expect?

I agree with your input. The site I was looking mentioned a few bars so most would be gay friendly. I’m doubting there’s a gay bar in Dunedin.

When it first opened back in the early 90s, it was called "Homo Cafe", meaning human cafe or people's cafe....didnt work well. The owners changed its name to Inch Bar. I think the issue was that their English wasn't good.

All started because it was firstly called homoexpresso meaning mean of coffee definitely not a “gay” bar but very friendly all welcome
